When booking the fishing trip of a lifetime, it’s important to do your research. At Osa Yacht Club, we want you to look at all your options, because then you can truly see how much better our charters are than others.

Every aspect of our Costa Rica fishing trips rises head and shoulders above the competition.  The boats we use are larger, more comfortable, and better equipped than any other option. When you’re on an Osa Yacht Club trip, you dine at world-renowned, five-star restaurants and stay in single-occupancy rooms at a five-star mansion while in San Jose. Plus, our staff is fluent in English, professional, experienced, and ready to make your Costa Rica fishing charter the best of your life.

You may see slightly lower costs at other companies, but don’t be taken in by prices that seem too good to be true. A cheap price means a cheap trip, and on a cheap trip, you will have less fun, and your personal safety may even be compromised by run-down boats and inexperienced captains and crews.

To help you with your research, here is a list of 10 questions to ask other fishing charter companies:

1.       Are all your boats large with air conditioning and beds, or are they small, center-console boats with no air and nowhere to lie down?

2.       Are the boats U.S. Coast Guard Approved for safety or is duct tape their best friend?

3.       Are the crew members English-speaking, or do you have to use sign language to communicate with them?

4.       Are you going be picked up at the airport by a private van, or will your group have to be separated and pay for multiple cabs?

5.       Is the resort owned by the fishing charter company, or is it a cheap motel that the fishing charter got a good deal on?

6.       Will you be staying at a 5-star mansion with a single-occupancy room in San Jose, or are you going to be staying at a run-down, cheap motel with double-occupancy rooms?

7.       What types of meals are included? Will the resort be feeding you 5-star meals or rice, beans, and fish every night?

8.       Do they offer numerous excursions at the resort, or is their idea of an excursion a walk on the beach?

9.       Does the charter company offer new, Penn International fishing gear, or do you risk losing the marlin of a lifetime because they use old, cheap rods and gear?

10.   Do they provide in-country flights on new, private airplanes for your entire group, or will your group be split up on multiple flights and ride in older planes?

These are just some of the more important questions to ask companies when planning your Costa Rica fishing charter. Make sure that the charter company you choose can give you the unforgettable Costa Rica fishing experience that you’ve always dreamed of. Protect your time and money and have the time of your life by going with an Osa Yacht Club Costa Rica fishing charter.
